Application

The Dr. Theo and Friedl Schöller Research Center for Business and Society at the School of Business, Economics and Society at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg aims at contributing to responsible action in business and society. Based on the School’s research focus “Creating Cohesion – Designing Change – Realizing Innovation”, the Schöller Research Center supports top-level research by creating and cultivating an international network of outstanding scholars and establishing vibrant collaborations with local roots and global outreach.

By its Fellowhips, the Schöller Research Center supports research projects of national and international scholars, which are conducted in collaboration with the professors of FAU’s School of Business, Economics and Society.

Fellowships are granted annually in the following two categories:

  • Schöller Senior Fellow for internationally renowned scholars
  • Schöller Fellow for promising early-career scholars
    (including assisstant professors, postdoctoral researchers and outstanding PhD students)

Selection criteria

The Fellows are selected by the Schöller Research Center’s Advisory Board by the following selection criteria:

  • already existing or intended collaboration with professors of the School of Business, Economics and Society as well as the willingness to engage in on-site cooperation and dialogue in Nuremberg,
  • scientific excellence as demonstrated by top-tier publications,
  • theoretical rigor and practical relevance of the outlined research project.

Rights and Obligations of the Fellows

The Dr. Theo and Friedl Schöller Research Center provides funds of up to 50.000 € per Schöller Senior Fellow and up to 20.000 € per Schöller Fellow for the realization of their proposed research project.
Fellows are expected to contribute with their competence and experience to the research activities of the School of Business, Economics and Society in Nuremberg.
In addition, the Fellows are expected to

  • participate in the annual Award Ceremony of the Schöller Research Center,
  • acknowledge the support provided by the Schöller Research Center in all publications related to their Fellowship,
  • report on the progress and results of their research project on a regular basis to the Schöller Research Center.

Applications can be submitted until December 31 of each year.

The professors of the School of Business, Economics and Society are welcome to nominate appropriate candidates. In this case, a separate recommendation letter should be enclosed to the application documents.
